CricUp — Privacy Policy

CricUp ("the app") is a live cricket score, schedule, and results app for Android. This policy explains what data the app collects, stores, and shares.

No account, no sign-in

CricUp does not require creating an account and has no sign-in. The app does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information.

What is stored, and where

• On your device only: your preferences (theme, refresh interval, notification settings, followed teams/players, and API settings) are stored locally using Android's DataStore, and a temporary cache of recent scores/fixtures is stored locally using a local database (Room). None of this is transmitted to our servers or any third party.
• Android device backup: if you have Android's device backup enabled in your phone's system settings, your preferences and followed teams/players (not the score cache) may be included in that OS-level backup, which is controlled by Google/your device, not by us.
• Clearing data: you can clear the local score cache anytime from Settings → Clear cache, or remove all app data by uninstalling the app.

Network requests

To show live scores, schedules, and results, the app fetches publicly available cricket data from our backend server. These requests do not require sign-in and do not include your name or any personal identifier. Like virtually all web servers, our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived technical access logs (e.g., IP address, request timestamp) for security and operational purposes; these are not linked to any user identity and are not sold or shared with third parties.

Advertising

CricUp does not currently display advertising. We may introduce advertising in the app in the future, most likely through Google AdMob. If we do, this section will be updated, and in general: ad partners such as Google may collect device and advertising identifiers (such as your Android Advertising ID), general (non-precise) location, and app usage data to select, serve, and measure ads, and may use cookies or similar technologies for that purpose. Where required by law (for example, in the UK and European Economic Area), we will ask for your consent before showing personalized ads. You can always reset or limit ad personalization for your device in your Android Settings, and you can read Google's own policies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

CricUp does not include any analytics or tracking SDKs today.

Third-party data

Match, schedule, and result information shown in the app is sourced from publicly available cricket information. CricUp is an independent, unofficial app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the BCCI, ICC, any cricket board, or any third-party data provider.

Children's privacy

CricUp is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
